Letters to USCIRF and US Secretary of State: Urge Sri Lanka to Abolish Anti-Conversion Legislation

38 Organizations and Individuals Join Letter Urging the State Department and USCIRF to Call on Sri Lanka to Drop Plans to Introduce Anti-Conversion Laws
WASHINGTON DC, 6 May 2021 | At the end of March 2021, Jubilee Campaign on behalf of a multi-faith coalition, submitted the International Religious Freedom Roundtable-circulated letter, addressed to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. The letter called on the PM to abandon the introduction of an anti-conversion law.  This action has been followed up by two joint letters calling on USCIRF and the US State Department, respectively, to reach out to the Sri Lankan authorities and call on them to abandon the plans of introducing an anti-conversion law, emphasising the negative impacts such a law has, not least on minority communities.
