NIGERIA UPDATE: Over 200 Dead in Plateau State After Fulani Militant Attacks
Attack on Kai village, Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State
On Sunday, June 24, Fulani militants attacked over a dozen towns in the Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State. The militants burned homes, plundered villages, and shot indiscriminately at innocent men, women, and children in a 48-hour siege. Over 200 individuals have died from the attacks, a figure that continues to rise as scores of victims injured with gunshot wounds flee to hospitals or other villages in search of refuge.
The Plateau State government imposed a curfew affective immediately on Sunday night, restricting movement from 6pm-6am in the Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South Local Government Areas to prevent a further collapse of law and order.
Please join us in praying for our brothers and sisters in Central Nigeria who have lost their loved ones and their homes to violence. Please also pray for the Fulani militants, specifically that God may soften their hearts and put an end to this genocide.
